The role of the Chief Human Resources Officer has been transformed in the past five years in ways that most HR functions are still catching up to. CHROs are now expected to contribute meaningfully to capital allocation decisions, M&A diligence, board succession discussions, and AI deployment strategy — in addition to the traditional scope of talent acquisition, development, and retention. The challenge is that the professional development infrastructure for CHROs has not kept pace with the expanded mandate. CXO India is addressing this gap with the launch of the CHRO Circle — a private, peer advisory forum designed exclusively for India's most senior people leaders. Membership is limited to CHROs and CPOs of companies with revenues above ₹500 crore or workforce above 2,000 employees. The forum meets quarterly, alternating between structured roundtable sessions and more informal dinner dialogues. Session topics are set by members, not by CXO India — which means the agenda reflects real challenges rather than theoretical frameworks. The CHRO Circle is deliberately not a conference, a webinar series, or a networking event. It is a sustained peer community built on confidentiality and candour. Members are expected to contribute as much as they receive — sharing their own experiences, including their failures, with the same openness they hope to find in others. The inaugural cohort is now being assembled. CHROs who meet the eligibility criteria and are interested in joining are invited to reach out through CXO India's platform.
